Beach Lovin' Card
I hope your week is off to a good start crafty friends! I'm still having a lot of fun with the supplies that Scrapbook.com sent me (Thanks SBC!) from Sizzix & Catherine Pooler's new release. With this beach themed card, I wish I could jump right in and be teleported to a beautiful beach. Wouldn't that be so cool?
Well, since we can't be teleported we can still dream about it and make a card 😃. I started by stamping the images from the Beach Blankets and Bellas stamp set with Catherine Pooler inks. Here are the colors I used: Midnight, Rouge, Pink Champagne, It's A Girl, and Limoncello.I also stamped images from the Synchronized Swimmers stamp set and used Buttercream, Rouge, Sand Castle, Flirty Fuchsia, Melon Ice, and Lime Rickey.
Once I was done inking, I paired the images with the coordinating dies from the Synchronized Swimmers and Beach Blankets and Bellas sets and ran them through my die cutting machine.
To add the wave background I used the Lawn Fawn Ocean Wave stencils. I used Fiesta Blue and Oh Boy! inks.
Every beach has sand, right? For this, I used I colored card stock and one of the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders die. To give it that sand effect, I added dots using Copics and a white gel pen. Then, I heat embossed one of the sentiments from the Vacay Mode stamp set and glued it to the stenciled background.
Next, I glued the stamped images on the background. I used foam adhesive for the umbrella so it could pop up more. Then, I added Glossy Accents on the umbrella and beach ball, Stickles on the waves, and Pretty Pink glitter brush on the umbrella.
After I was done adding all the elements to my background, I glued the front panel to my A2 card base. To finish the card, I paired it to a matching envelope, now it's ready to be sent to a loved one!
I hope you have enjoyed today's card tutorial as much as I did when I made it! Make sure to follow me on Instagram as well as checking my previous blog posts for some fun inspiration. See you next time!
