Lunar Paste and Fun Surprise Embossing Powder

Hello crafty friends! I hope your Monday is going great so far! Today, I want to share with you a card using Simon Hurley Create supplies. This card also has one of the newest embossing powders from Ranger Ink - it glows in the dark! All the other supplies used are listed at the end of this blog post.

I started by making an A2 card base and then trimmed another piece that I used for my front panel. On this card I used three stencils: Whimsical Ovals, Grand Greenery, and Mermaid Maker - all by Simon Hurley Create

I started with the Whimsical Oval stencil and the No Diving ink pad. I chose the larger oval as part of my background so it would look like water. Then, I used the Pinstripe background stamp on the large oval to make it seem like waves. I heat embossed the pinstripe images with the new embossing powder Cotton Tail. This embossing powder has some texture, which I thought loosely resembled tidal foam in beach water.

Next, I used the Grand Greenery stencil to ink my background with Overzealous ink. Then I turned the stencil to get more images on my background. This time I used my blending tool and my Emboss It clear pad on the background so I could heat emboss using the Glow Up (glow in the dark) embossing powder.

Next, I used the Mermaid Maker stencil to ink some mermaid tails and apply some Lunar Paste for extra shine and dimension. Then I fussy cut the mermaid tails and glued them to the front panel using foam adhesive. To finish the card, I heat embossed a sentiment from the Sketch Floral stamp sent and added some clear sequins to the background.
