Using Simon Hurley's Stamping Foam to create fun backgrounds
Hello crafty friends! I'm so happy to be back so that I can share a new blog post with you all! I haven't been able to do much for the last few days since I've been fighting bronchitis, but thankfully I'm feeling much better today. I missed being in my happy place creating fun cards!
For today, I made an A2 size card using mostly Simon Hurley's supplies from Ranger Ink.
I started by creating the front panel by trimming a piece of cardstock measuring 4 x 5 ¼. On this piece, I used Simon Hurley's new Stamping Foam. I heated the stamping foam with Ranger's Heat It Tool . Once the foam was heated, I pressed it against the new Folk Art Florals background stamp to create an impression on the foam. Next, I used the Tropical Tango and Mint Fresh inks to ink the stamp foam. I then sprayed some water to make an impression on the front panel.
On a piece of card stock I stamped and fussy cut images from the Welcome Home stamp. When I finished fussy cutting the images, I used my Copic markers to color the images.
When I finished coloring the images, I used the Woodgrain embossing folder from Sunny Studios and kraft cardstock to create a "floor" for my background. Then I trimmed a thin piece of white cardstock to create a "base board" for the wood floor. Can you tell I had too much fun creating the scene for this card?
To finish the card, I glued the "wood floor" and "base board" with Nuvo glue and the stamped images with foam tape. I also stamped and heat embossed one of the sentiments from the Sketched Florals stamp set with Gold embossing powder. And of course, I could not forget to add some Majestic sequins from Sunny Studios.
