Stretching Your Supplies: Using cardstock as a stencil

Hello crafty friends! Today I want to share a card I made while thinking of Yana Smakula who lives in Ukraine and everyone that is being affected by the war. I literally would like to give big hugs to Yana and her family! I used colors that resemble the Ukrainian flag to show my love and support. For more information on how you can support Ukraine, please read Yana's post to get more info.

To make today's card, I use one of the new mini dies from Spellbinders called Mini Crosses. You can do so much with these dies! And the cardstock color combos you can use are limitless. I used some solid cardstock from my stash to create these die cuts with my Platinum 6 die cutting machine.

After I die cut the Mini Crosses, I used the negative space as a stencil to create my background on my front panel. I used one of my favorite inks from Simon Hurley Create called Shooting Star with my blending brushes from Taylored Expressions.

Once I was done with the background, I used my Misti to stamp one of the sentiments from the Simple Sentiments with Altenew Obsidian pigment ink.

Next, I used some foam sheet on the front panel to give it more dimension and glued it to my A2 card base.
To finish the card, I added some gold and blue embellishments.
