A Slimline Card for a Dear Friend

Hello crafty friends! Happy Friday! I'm excited that the weekend is here because I have a lot planned. One of the things I'm planning to do is organize/rearrange my craft room...I hope to not get distracted every time I see a new stamp or crafty supply I haven't used in a while, hahaha!

Now, for today's card I made a mini slimline card. For the card base, I trimmed a white 120lb cardstock (this has been my go-to cardstock lately), measuring 7 x 6 with scoring on the 7 inch side at 3½. Then I trimmed another piece for the front panel measuring 3¼ x 5¾.

Once I trimmed the piece that would be used as the front panel, I embossed it using the Floral detailed embossing folder and my Platinum 6 die cutting machine.

Next, to color the embossed cardstock, I used the Mint colored Metallic Gilding Polish. This gilding polish is so much fun to use! It comes with a sponge applicator (it's part of the top of the bottle) so that you can apply it on your project. It also dries pretty quickly. Once I was done creating the background, I cut a piece of foam sheet, glued it onto the back of it to add dimension, and adhered it to the card base.

Then, I used scraps of my 120lb cardstock to ink them in different colors using distress sprays. I used Squeezed Lemonade distress spray stain, and Kitsch Flamingo and Cracked Pistachio distress oxide sprays. I used my  Splat Box to avoid making any messes on my craft space while I was spraying the cardstock.

After the cardstock was completely dried, I die cut the new Inverted Squares from the color block mini shape collection from Spellbinders. I also used some holographic card stock to add some shine to my card.

Once I was done die cutting the Inverted Squares, I mixed the color cardstock and glued them to the front panel of the card. I then used the Hello Dear Friend glimmer hot foil and die set to add the sentiments to my card. To finish, I made a slimline envelope with the We R Memory Keepers Slimline Envelope maker, which was so easy to use!

I hope you have enjoyed today's post and that it has inspired you to do something fun and creative this weekend! Let me know in the comments if you would like me to share a video using the We R Memory Keepers Slimline Envelope maker or the Metallic Gilding Polishes.

I also would like to let you know that today is the last day to take advantage of the AMAZING sale over at Spellbinders. They have deals starting at $1!
